Chapter and Members Win Top California AFA Awards

Your Chapter received two of the highest CAFA chapter awards at the California AFA state convention:
• The CAFA Distinguished Award for its Aerospace Education Program
• The CAFA Distinguished Award for the Best Single Program of the Year (Community Luncheon featuring Mr. Ron Iden, California’s Director of Homeland Security, as keynote speaker). (See accompanying article for details of the presentation.)
Chapter members spent many hours to plan exciting and informative programs and were recognized for their hard work and efforts. Nine were selected to receive the CAFA awards at the State Convention held in Palm Springs:

•Chapter 116 Teacher of the Year (Area 1): James P. Rost;
•Past Presidential Citation: Phil Barger;
•Exceptional Service: Lee Greer and Don Eby;
•Meritorious Service: Bob Darling, Joe Battaglia, and Major Jeffery Scudder;
•Civilian Employee of the year: Richard S. Page;
•CAFA Presidential Award: Rich Taubinger.
